A Top 3 pick awaits the Canadiens in Dallas

The 2018 NHL Draft Lottery has spoken, and the Montreal Canadiens are selecting the third spot in the NHL 2018 Draft in Dallas this coming June.

After months of waiting, the Montreal Canadiens finally know where they are going to write in the NHL Draft in June. At the beginning, it was a fairly docile lottery, since everyone fell into the positions where they should be. That was until the eleventh pick.

It was assumed that the Carolina Hurricanes would be there, but instead, the New York Islanders emerged giving them consecutive selections in the first round. The most important thing is that the Hurricanes won a lottery. The countdown continued, and when the Montreal Canadians were supposed to get up, the most beautiful thing happened, but they did not. Arizona, welcome to your fifth global selection.

By the end of the first wave, Montreal, Carolina and Buffalo had won one of the three lotteries. Unfortunately, the NHL decided to push for the latest revelation in the second half of the Vegas-San Jose game. It was an awkward wait, to say the least. The only thing we knew was that the Canadians in Montreal were going to have the opportunity to add one of Rasmus Dahlin, Andrei Svechnikov and Filip Zadina.

According to Mikaƫl Lalancette, the Sabers had 59.7% of which revealed that they won the lottery, followed by Montreal with 30.6% and Carolina with 9.7%.

Then, it was time for the results. The Canadians from Montreal were revealed to choose the third place in the NHL Draft of 2018.

Montreal Canadiens: Jacob de La Rose is a win away from gold

As the world hockey championship ends in 2018, Jacob de La Rose has one player from Montreal Canadiens who stands for the gold medal. Yesterday at the World Hockey Championship in 2018 was an expected and unexpected result. Jacob de La Rose and the team of Sweden finished with the US team, beating them 6-0 to go to the game of the gold medal. Not surprisingly, Sweden won, and the gate differential showed how strong the team is. After that, fans of Montreal Canadiens, no doubt, saw at least one of their players in the final. What took a lot by surprise was the result of the Canadian-Swiss game. The Swiss scored several timely goals and had a starry gate. Leonardo Genoni stood on his head, because his team stopped 43 of 45 shots. This disappointed Canada, which entered this game as a favorite, despite Switzerland's success in Round Robin.

Younger fans lack memories of a Cup-winning squad

We are now so far away from the last Stanley Cup parade along the usual route that the entire Montrealer generation grew up without knowing the intense euphoria that accompanies the championship season. It is a pity, because getting titles was once a part of life here, like urban corruption and a cross on the royal mountain. We would be waiting there for the first floats, and then for the trail along with the players to Peel and further. It always struck me that at this time of year, when most people had healthy tan, the triumphant Canadiens were always pale as ghosts and covered with welts and bruises on their faces, necks and shoulders.

Bouchard hiring could lead him to bigger things with Canadiens

On Thursday, Montreal Canadiens named coach Lauel Raul, his partner of the American Hockey League, Joel Buschar. The 44-year-old Bouchard is doing well in Sylvain Lefevre, who was fired at the end of the regular season after six years of work. It was also announced that the assistants of Lefevre Donald Dufreve and Nick Carrier will not return. Bouchard left as co-owner, president, general manager and coach of the Blaineville-Boisbrand Armada of the Quebec Majors of the Junior Hockey League to accept a missile work that one day could lead to coaching or management work with the NHL club.
