How the Mike Hoffman trade impacts Max Pacioretty

In the NHL, transactions start taking place, and the last deal with Mike Hoffman may bring more connections to Montreal Canadiens for Max Pacioretty.

NHL was kindled on Tuesday morning, and Montreal Canadiens were not its source. The morning began with senators from Ottawa who traded with Mike Hoffman from San Jose Sharks. For some, it was surprising, considering that there are ice problems now, but Pierre Dorion managed to find an eager one.

A few minutes later, it was announced that the sharks had flipped Hoffman to Florida. According to Christian Sportsnet, Pierre Dorion (Sens GM) contacted Dale Tallon (Panthers GM) about the transaction. The price at that time was too high, and Florida got an offer from San Jose.

Weighing different destinations for Max Pacioretty before trade and off season, Panthers were one of them. The 29-year-old has been connected with Florida for some time, but the contract will never be terminated. Chances are related to the starting price from Marc Bergevin.

Panthers have a pair of young centers that would look great in Habs uniforms such as Nick Bjugstad or Henrik Borgström. Tallon always seemed reluctant to give up any of them. Hoffman in Florida is likely to close Pacioretty's business from the very beginning. Captain Canadiens in Montreal is a better goal scorer, but Tallon was able to get the top six ahead for a pick pack.

Hoffman, finding a new home, places Pacioretty in the center of the storm for teams that want to win the left wing. His contract is still one of the best things to add, and Bergevin does not have to move it now. Habs could easily keep Pacioretty in the tab and perhaps return to trade next year.

The advantage of concluding a contract sooner than later is to get a full season of sniper talents. This may mean that some of the teams that are looking for help in scoring will be more proactive in the next few days. Who gets up is a secret.

Trading Pacioretta always seemed like the decision of the "first floor", which is to take place at the end of the week. Jeff Skinner is still there because Carolina Hurricanes want to shake their plans. While Bergevin can not sell Pacioretta for nothing less than what is worth it, he must be careful because it may be an option for "Plan B" for some.

Montreal Canadiens Set Up For Their Best Draft Ever

Montreal Canadiens goes to the off-season with an abundance of sediment. This gives them the opportunity to create a franchise for the next decade. Montreal Canadiens suffered from a miserable season 2017-18. The victory in 29 games during the long 82nd game schedule is not ideal. In fact, the team only had twice less wins, dating back to the 1963 season. One of them was in 1994-1995, when the lockout reduced the NHL calendar to 48 games. Even in 2012-13, although they played 48 games, they were able to win 29 games. Hell, in the 1940s there were only 50 or 60 game schedules, but they could still win 30. Going out in first place in 29 of 82 games should not happen in the era of NHL parity. The bright side of horror in the NHL is that you are rewarded with the best choice in the NHL project. Montreal did not get the best choice, but should choose the third in the annual tournament. They are not only ranked third, but also general manager Mark Bergewin has been collecting fees for ...

Bouchard hiring could lead him to bigger things with Canadiens

On Thursday, Montreal Canadiens named coach Lauel Raul, his partner of the American Hockey League, Joel Buschar. The 44-year-old Bouchard is doing well in Sylvain Lefevre, who was fired at the end of the regular season after six years of work. It was also announced that the assistants of Lefevre Donald Dufreve and Nick Carrier will not return. Bouchard left as co-owner, president, general manager and coach of the Blaineville-Boisbrand Armada of the Quebec Majors of the Junior Hockey League to accept a missile work that one day could lead to coaching or management work with the NHL club.

The Canadiens are in position to have their best draft haul in years

As the playoffs of the National Hockey League continue, and the teams are playing to raise the venerable Stanley Cup, the iconic Montreal Canadiens are planning next season. The team with most of the Stanley Cup championships in the history of the NHL - 24 - Montreal did not even claim the playoffs in what was a disaster of the 2017-2018 season for the Canadiens. As fans in Montreal are surprised that it did not go so late with their favorite team, just like the supporters of Canadiens in Sault Ste. Marie - including the self-proclaimed no. 1 fanatic Habs, the legend of local radio Lou Turco. It's been a while since Montreal won its last Stanley Cup. It would have been in 1993, when the Canadiens, supported by the goal of the play-off of the most valuable player Patrick Roy, won three overtime games to drive out the "Los Angeles Kings" in the Stanley Cup finals.
