Canadiens' Jacob de la Rose

Jacob de la Rosa Canadiens won the gold medal at the IIHF World Ice Hockey Championships with the Swedish team over the weekend.

Sweden beat Switzerland 3: 2 in a shootout on the last last Sunday, which also became the 23rd birthday of De la Rosa.

The TSN hockey club analyst Ray Ferraro covered the World Cup and watched de la Rose when he scored one goal, added an assistant and was a plus-2 in 10 tournament games.

"I think Jacob de la Rose does the same all the time, and if you expect the right things, I think they will be happy with him," Ferraro said during an interview on Tuesday night on TSN Radio 690 in Montreal . "If you expect him to create or insult you, you will be disappointed. And so they played with Philip Forsberg and Victor Arvidson. But he was basically similar to the defensive conscience of the line. They did not expect any offense from him. Those other guys had to carry out and provide for the crime.

"I thought that de la Rosa played well," Ferraro added. "He skates well, he's strong. But if you expect resentment from him, you will be disappointed. If you do not expect a grudge, if you look at it as at No. 3, I think you can be happy with that. He is still young, he is 22 years old? But I do not think he's 22 or 24 or 26, I do not think there's a grudge there. He does not play with the offensive mind. He's a cautious player, responsible, and I think it's a little more about what a third-line player is.

"I thought that there were times in Montreal when they expected wrong things from Lars Eller," Ferraro continued. "And then, when Eller could not provide them, disappointment began. But now they do not expect him to commit any crime in Washington, and if he attacks them, it's great. Then, suddenly, you have a scorer of 10 or 15 people ... a guy who perfectly checks that he can skate well. For me, this applies to the box in which you put it. If you put it in the wrong size, you will be disappointed. If you put it in the right size, then you will be happy. I think de la Rosa can explain this to you.

In 55 games with the Canadiens this season, de la Rosa published 4-8-12 results and was minus-2. In 119 regular season games with Canadiens he has 8-11-19 totals. Canadiens chose de la Rose in the second round (34th place) in 2013 in the NHL.

When I spoke with Ferraro a few years ago about the column I wrote about him, I asked if from time to time, as a former player, criticize current players.

"The game is much more complicated than it seems," he said. "It's really easy to say:" Oh, this guy should make the best game with the puck. " But often there are times, something made him make a mistake. Although sometimes you have to be critical, I found that it's okay if I'm honest.

"I do not want to go out there and bang guys, but there are times when you have to point out a mistake," Ferraro added. "But there's often something really good that makes a guy make a mistake. And although you can point out an error, in my opinion, you must indicate what a great game or good game. This is something that I should know as a former player. I need to know the subtleties of the game. And this, I think, is really some kind of power that I have. "

That's why Ferraro became my favorite hockey analyst.

"Judging by my Twitter account, I do not think people understand that I'm playing," Ferraro said with a laugh when we spoke. "You have all kinds of people. I mean, I scored 400 goals (in the NHL) ... it's not that I just fell from a turnip truck. "

Montreal Canadiens: Ranking Who Habs Fans Should Cheer For

OHL's playoffs finally ended, and the Montreal Canadiens Vista Will Bite along with his Hamilton Bulldogs is the team on the top. Four series and 16 wins - all you need to win the championship. To say this is so that the journey sounds so simple, but it's far from the case. However, despite several hits on the road, Hamilton's Bulldogs made it easy. Now they, and, most importantly, the Montreal Canadiens, the nickname Will Bitten are the champions of the OHL. Many thought that Hamilton would fight on the way to the finals, especially in the second round. But they adhered to the game plan and continued to perform. Whenever they found themselves on the other side of the victory, the team quickly assembled and responded well. Their difficult task appeared in their series against Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (no duh), as they were ardent outsiders.

Montreal Canadiens Set Up For Their Best Draft Ever

Montreal Canadiens goes to the off-season with an abundance of sediment. This gives them the opportunity to create a franchise for the next decade. Montreal Canadiens suffered from a miserable season 2017-18. The victory in 29 games during the long 82nd game schedule is not ideal. In fact, the team only had twice less wins, dating back to the 1963 season. One of them was in 1994-1995, when the lockout reduced the NHL calendar to 48 games. Even in 2012-13, although they played 48 games, they were able to win 29 games. Hell, in the 1940s there were only 50 or 60 game schedules, but they could still win 30. Going out in first place in 29 of 82 games should not happen in the era of NHL parity. The bright side of horror in the NHL is that you are rewarded with the best choice in the NHL project. Montreal did not get the best choice, but should choose the third in the annual tournament. They are not only ranked third, but also general manager Mark Bergewin has been collecting fees for ...

Bouchard hiring could lead him to bigger things with Canadiens

On Thursday, Montreal Canadiens named coach Lauel Raul, his partner of the American Hockey League, Joel Buschar. The 44-year-old Bouchard is doing well in Sylvain Lefevre, who was fired at the end of the regular season after six years of work. It was also announced that the assistants of Lefevre Donald Dufreve and Nick Carrier will not return. Bouchard left as co-owner, president, general manager and coach of the Blaineville-Boisbrand Armada of the Quebec Majors of the Junior Hockey League to accept a missile work that one day could lead to coaching or management work with the NHL club.
